Raul Valladares

Project Manager

Joined AG|CM in 2019.

Raul started his construction career in Houston in the early 1980’s working as a Construction Supervisor at manufacturer/installer specializing in high-density polyethylene (HDPE) liner. There he installed over 100 million square feet of liner, drainage and containment materials throughout USA, Canada, Latin America, Spain, South Korea and Indonesia, as well as other countries. He was then recruited by a solid waste company and was sent to Puerto Rico for 3 years where he was responsible for operations of two landfills, three transfer stations and five collection companies. This solid waste experience assisted in the contract of a 7-year tour to Equatorial Guinea, West Africa where he was responsible for the remediation of their existing, environmentally unfriendly trash dump site and convert it into an operating municipal solid waste facility; additionally he remediated over 50 illegal trash dump sites throughout the City of Malabo.

On year three of this tour, Raul was contracted by the Ministry of Interior (EG) to convert the solid waste effort, subsidized by the government, into a sustainable entity. After five years of hard work, he was able to complete the closure of the existing landfill, and started the construction of a new 12-acre facility capable to operate over 1,000 yd3/day of municipal waste and construction of a transfer station and a recycling facility. Among the projects completed there is the recycling of nearly 3,200 scrap truck tires that had been collected for several years and utilized them as a road base by cutting one side of the tire and filling the open side with gravel. Further, using the cut tire wall to build gabions to utilize as creek/river water diverter during road construction.

After his return to the USA in late 2014, Raul has been a Construction Project Manager for convenient store/fuel station brands (Stripes/Sunoco and 7Eleven) in Texas and Louisiana. He started with AG|CM as Project Manager in November 2019 and is working with the team at Houston Community College (HCC).
