Mike began his local government career in 1999 with the Plano Police Department. Over his 16-year career with Plano, he served in a number of operational and executive roles including school resource officer where he developed school safety plans for the school district.

In 2015, Mike became the Chief of Police for the City of Venus, Texas. Shortly thereafter he was appointed by the city council to serve as the city manager and chief of police. While leading the city he expanded city limits, developed a capital improvement plan, created a public improvement district, and developed a school resource officer program and safety plan for Venus ISD. He has also served as city manager for the cities of Keene and Wimberley, Texas. With more than 7 years of experience serving as a city manager, leading a variety of infrastructure and building projects, Mike has a tremendous understanding of project management from a city perspective.

Mike joined AG|CM in 2022 as a Business Development Manager for AG|CM’s North Texas Region. His responsibilities include seeking business opportunities in the North Texas region, managing the development of marketing materials, and implementing AG|CM’s business development strategy. He identifies and develops relationships with potential clients and teaming partners as well as assists the Regional Vice President in providing any needed resources and/or support to field personnel.

How did you get into this industry? / Did you always know you wanted this career?

After retiring from city management after 23 years, I was excited to join the AG|CM family. I was aware of AG|CM within the government profession and felt like I could continue to help improve communities.
