As a Field Operations Manager for the AG|CM Central region, Jacobo is responsible for ensuring that clients' project needs are effectively managed by AG|CM team members. He also mentors fellow employees in their career growth. He coaches them to develop their leadership skills by building strong business relationships with stakeholders, design teams, and general contractors through effective communication skills, conflict management, problem-solving, and a positive attitude.

Jacobo possesses over 38 over of experience delivering high-quality projects across sectors including education, government, industrial and commercial. He has led numerous educational bond programs for ISDs and universities such as Texas A&M–Kingsville and Texas A&M International. With 20 years in facilities operations, Jacobo also specializes in space planning, renovations, and sustainable strategies that boost performance and reduce costs.

How did you get into this industry? / Did you always know you wanted this career?

When I was a child, I was fascinated by the way buildings came to life in my neighborhood. I was captivated by how empty land could transform into a structure that served so many people. Watching how people working together to bring something great to life sparked a deep curiosity in me. That early interest inspired me to learn everything I could about what it takes to build something complex that would be helpful for a lot of people.

How does a professional project management firm make a difference in the world?

Being part of the transformation of our urban infrastructure to improve people's well-being and positively impact our society.

What are your guiding words in life (or in work)?

Stick to your values, always put in your best effort, don’t shy away from challenges, learn from your mistakes, be resilient, and most importantly “enjoy the ride.”
