Angleton – After years of dealing with cramped quarters, scattered departments and other inconveniences posed by a Brazoria County Courthouse, its government long outgrew, County Judge Matt Sebesta asked for just a bit more patience from employees and residents.
“Let’s please be patient,” he said. “There are going to be times when we’re just looking for a parking place. There’s gonna be times when a door is just shut off. I told a couple of judges earlier today, ‘Hey, you’re losing your parking spots.’
“This is going to be an evolving, dynamic campus over the next three and a half to four years. We’re going to have some growing pains. But once we get finished with this project, it’s all gonna be worth it.”
It will be about four years before everything envisioned in the $171 million expansion and improvement project is complete, he told officials gathered Thursday to break ground on two of its cornerstones — a $61 million administration building and an $8.17 million emergency operations center.
