Jose Hidalgo

Senior Project Manager

Jose comes with over 20 years in the construction industry, beginning his career as an operating engineer managing field work. He worked his way through college and received his Bachelor of Science in Construction Sciences from San Francisco State University. In 1999 he began Hidalgo General Engineering Inc., a company focused on infrastructure work for all the construction departments in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. HGE managed and worked on many of San Francisco’s most high-profile projects, including the 3rd Street Light Rail projects and the rebuilding of the 4th Street Peter R.  Maloney Historic Truss Bridge, as well as the Broadway Street Streetscape at the center of the historic Broadway and Columbus streets.  In 2010 HGE closed its doors, and he and his family moved to Seville, Spain where he worked for a company managing small contracts within the Air Force base in Moron de la Frontera and Rota, Spain. Jose and his family returned to the United States at the end of 2011. The Hidalgo family have made Central Texas their home since 2012, living in Round Rock. Though his career has taken him across the pond to Europe and back, Texas is where he and his family call home. While in Texas, Jose has worked with Flextronics International first with the General Contractor, then as their Construction Manager. He moved on to build the new El Paso Central Intelligence Center at Ft. Bliss. Jose’s last project before joining AG|CM was with the Village of Salado where he managed the installation of the town’s first sewer collection system and the building of a new Waste Water Treatment Plant. His career and efforts have produced stellar career in Strategic and tactical project management of construction projects, operations, planning and scheduling, budgeting, resource management, employee and site supervision and technical specifications.

Mr. Hidalgo is responsible to provide construction leadership and perform administration and management within a defined scope of services from pre-programming/planning through startup and occupancy. He provides guidance on planning and construction related activities and serves as the lead for the Project Delivery Team (PDT), consisting of the Owner, Architect/Engineer and Contractor. Through hands on coordination with the PDT, he acts in the interest of the Owner as agent and/or advisor. He is responsible to review plans and specifications throughout the design phase for errors, omissions, conflicts and constructability. Through monitoring, evaluation and coordination of the Design Teams’ and Contractors’ performance, Jose works to assure each project is constructed in accordance with the Contract Documents. Jose serves as supervisor and/or mentor to Assistant Construction Manager(s), Inspector(s) and/or other technical or administrative personnel specifically assigned to his projects.
